Skip Hire Made Simple
Our aim is to make the recycling of waste as pain free as possible for residents and businesses in Bury and the surrounding area. Grab hire is a new service we have added this year to compliment our skip hire services, see below for guidance on the best solution to your waste management needs.

Not Sure What Skip Size You Need?
Choosing the right skip size can save you time, money, and hassle — and we’re here to make it easy.
Ideal for small domestic clearances, garden waste and residential skip hire. Fits approx. 30–40 skip bags.
8 Yard Skip
The most popular choice for builders. Perfect for construction waste like soil, rubble, or concrete. Fits approx. 60–80 skip bags.
10 Yard Skip
Best for commercial waste, such as office refurbishments, or shop refits. Holds approx. 80–100 skip bags.
16 Yard Skip
Great for large commercial projects or major home renovations. Handles around 140–160 skip bags.
32 Ton Grab Wagon Hire
The most efficient way to move a large quantity of soil, rubble or stone from garden or construction projects. Also great for collecting small quantities directly from the floor.
Top Tip: When in doubt, size up. An overfilled skip can’t be collected, which may lead to delays and extra costs.
Do I need a permit for skip hire?
Private Property = No Permit Needed
If you’re placing your skip in your driveway or on private land, you’re good to go!
Public Road = Permit Required
Planning to place the skip on a public road ? You’ll need a permit from the local council — and that’s where we come in.
We handle the permit process so you don’t have to.
We’ll advise on the safest, most convenient location and sort the paperwork for you.

What can I put in a skip?
We can accept lots of different types of waste in our skips however before you start filling it, here are 6 common items that can’t go in a standard skip and why:
1. Fridges & Freezers – Contain gases that require specialist disposal.
2. Paint, Solvents & Fuel – These are classed as hazardous waste.
3. Tyres – Difficult to process and not accepted in general waste.
4. Asbestos – Extremely hazardous and must be removed by licensed professionals.
5. Plasterboard – Can’t be mixed with other waste due to sulphate content.
6. Mattresses – Require special handling and recycling due to bulky components.
The good news? While these items can’t be thrown in with your general skip waste, we can still take most of them separately — just let us know ahead of time. Some items may incur an extra charge, but we’ll handle everything safely and responsibly.
